Andrey Suzdaltsev
Former deputy commander of the combat group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Belarus “Almaz” Igor Makar accused the State Security Committee (KGB) of planning the assassination of Russian political scientist, associate professor at the Higher School of Economics (HSE) Andrei Suzdaltsev. It is reported by Euroradio.
“I have evidence and confirmation that it was planned to physically eliminate Andrei Ivanovich Suzdaltsev. This is not on the record, but this will be confirmed by my source personally in court. I very much hope that the Russian Federation will react to all this. I really hope that the world community, in particular the European one, and America will react, ”Makar said.
Suzdaltsev, in turn, said that he trusts the information of a former employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus. He noted that he had good relations with the murdered journalist Pavel Sheremet, so he is not surprised that both of them were on the list of potential targets of the Belarusian special services.
Earlier on January 5, Makar announced his readiness to testify in the case of the murder of Sheremet to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. He confirmed that back in December 2020, he handed over to the Ukrainian side a recording, which allegedly recorded a conversation with the participation of the former head of the KGB of Belarus Vadim Zaitsev about the planned murder of a journalist. “You have to work on Sheremet, who is *** (tired – approx.“ Lenta.ru ” ). Let's make a bookmark and so on, so that this rat will not be collected at all, neither arms nor legs, ”said Zaitsev.
Sheremet died in Kiev in 2016 when his car was blown up. In Ukraine, three participants in the war in Donbass have been detained and accused of organizing the murder. According to the investigation, they wanted to destabilize the situation in the country.
