Ukrainian Ambassador Evgeny Korniychuk intervened in the case because of the outrageous situation
In Israeldetained 10-year-old Yevgeny from Ukraine and his uncle-guardian, married to a citizen of the country, Alexander at Ben Gurion Airport. They were placed in isolation.

As noted, Yevgeny and Alexander arrived at the airport, after which the Israeli authorities forbade them to enter and sent to isolation. Moreover, the child was threatened to be deported back to Ukraine.
The outrageous incident received publicity, so the Israeli Ministry of the Interior reconsidered the case.
“It is known that Alexander is a demobilized soldier. He moved to Israel to live with his wife and took an orphan nephew. However, Israel met the orphan with a cynical decision to deport,” the message says.
To prevent deportation, the spouses are ready to post a bail of 40,000 shekels (more than 10,000 US dollars) in exchange for giving them the opportunity to defend their rights in court.
“Lawyers Asaf Weizen and Noam Grinzeig filed an appeal with the Tel Court of Appeal “Aviva. According to them, the deportation decision is beyond reasonable. Judge Yosef Brada issued a warrant to set aside the deportation decision, but ordered the man and child to be left in the airport detention center.” – stated in the message.
Because of the outrageous situation, Ukrainian Ambassador Yevhen Korniychuk intervened in the matter. The orphan and the guardian were allowed to leave on bail and enter Israel in order to be able to streamline their status.
