The self-proclaimed president plans to buy weapons or receive them as gifts from the Russian Federation.

Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said he could deploy Russian S-400 and Iskander anti-aircraft missile systems near Minsk.

He said this during a visit to the Belarusian-Russian exercises “Allied Resolve-2022”.

According to Lukashenka, the S-400 complex is currently in Belarus, which Belarusian military personnel are mastering at the training center.

“If necessary, we will install a couple more installations. And we don't need more. This is a weapon that “sees” at a distance, in my opinion, 600 kilometers. We are talking about purchasing several of these installations. We can install them somewhere to the east Minsk or near Minsk and we will see what is being done in Kiev, Warsaw and so on,” the self-proclaimed president said.

He also added that he was not opposed to buying or receiving Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems and other weapons from the Russian Federation as a gift.

“There are several types of promising equipment that we need. This is Iskander and not only. We will buy this equipment and receive it as a gift from our older brothers,” Lukashenka said.

The S-400 Triumph is a Russian long-range and medium-range anti-aircraft missile system. Designed to destroy all modern and promising means of aerospace attack, reconnaissance and any other air targets in conditions of intense fire and electronic countermeasures.

Iskander missile systems are designed to destroy air defense and missile defense systems, as well as the most important objects covered by them, at ranges up to 500 km.

Earlier, Alexander Lukashenko said that he was ready to recognize the “DPR” and “LPR” together with Russia and that this would be a joint decision with Putin.
