The wife of the head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin, Daria, spoke about communication with her husband after unsuccessful matches. The couple gave an interview on Match TV.
Daria Karpina stressed that she does not need to somehow adapt to her husband's behavior after unsuccessful matches. “Everything is intuitive. This rule, they say, do not touch, no. We can discuss the game itself or even talk about another topic, ”she said. The coach's wife also emphasized that it was more about defeats during Karpin's work in Rostov: when he headed the national team, after the games the spouses stopped seeing each other.
She also stressed that Karpin does not behave closed after failures. The specialist added that he could discuss the match with his wife, and noted that Daria is well versed in football.
Karpin took over the Russian national team in July after Stanislav Cherchesov left the team. At first, the specialist combined positions in the national team and in Rostov, but soon left the club. Under Karpin's leadership, the Russian national team made it to the playoffs of the 2022 World Cup qualifying tournament.
Karpin is known for his work at Spartak, Rostov and Spanish Mallorca.
