In Russia, a dam broke on the Ural River. As a result, large-scale flooding occurred. The Russian authorities are trying to organize the evacuation of thousands of Russians.
In the Russian city of Orsk, a dam on the Ural River burst. Two Russians are already known to have died.
This is reported by the Russian Telegram channel Baza.
The day before, the water level on the Ural River rose sharply, which led to the flooding of dozens of houses and damage to the dam in two places. The city administration declared a state of emergency and warned residents to prepare for evacuation.
Despite the attempts of the Russian authorities to fill up the flooded areas, the water continued to rise, and after a few hours its level rose by almost one and a half meters, reaching 930 centimeters against the norm of 700 cm. Several streets are completely flooded.< /p>
Russian authorities began to evacuate the population from the city. It is reported that as of the morning of April 6, about 2,000 houses in 95 settlements were flooded, more than 3 thousand people were evacuated.
In addition, as a result of the dam break, there have already been deaths among Russians. One person died after falling from a roof, and another body was found in the courtyard of a house on one of the streets. Russian rescuers are checking information about a possible third victim.
Orsk authorities warn that the entire housing sector will be flooded in the near future. The power supply had already been cut off at the site of the flooding.
Recall that as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station by the Russian occupiers, the Kakhovskaya reservoir became critically shallow. The area has changed almost beyond recognition, turning into emptiness.
The destroyed Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station itself cannot be restored. As a result of the terrorist attack on the hydroelectric power station carried out by the Russians, 11 spans of the upper part of the dam with 28 were destroyed, and 150 tons of oil leaked from the turbine hall of the hydroelectric power station.
