The Austrian toll specialist Kapsch TrafficCom has signed a five-year contract in Bulgaria. Specifically, Kapsch Traffic Solutions will be responsible for the technical operation of the e-vignette system for cars and the electronic truck toll system, as the company announced in a press release on Monday. The total project volume amounts to around 60 million euros.
Kapsch Traffic Solutions had already set up the existing car e-vignette system and the electronic truck toll system in the country. The completion and handover to the state took place in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
Kapsch TrafficCom is part of the Kapsch Group based in Vienna, has subsidiaries and branches in more than 30 countries and has been listed in the Prime Market segment of the Vienna Stock Exchange since 2007. In the 2019/20 financial year, the company achieved sales of EUR 731 million with around 5,100 employees.
