Rumors that relatives of critics of the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, are being abducted in Chechnya are being spread by bloggers living in Europe who support terrorism. Kadyrov himself said this at an annual press conference, reports TASS.

“Those who spread such rumors, they try in every possible way to incriminate us,” Kadyrov said.

He added that the Chechen authorities have repeatedly denied these allegations.

Earlier, at least two bloggers, Tumso Abdurakhmanov and Minkail Malizayev, reported about the mass abduction of their family members. On December 24, Abdurakhmanov announced the abduction of his wife's relatives, and before that said that on the night of December 23, his relatives on the paternal and maternal side were abducted – he does not know the whereabouts of six family members: two uncles, three cousins and a second cousin.

Malizayev said that the security forces took away all of his relatives “to one”, including women, and subsequently sent photographs of them without clothes from an unknown number.

Both bloggers criticized Kadyrov by posting open messages on the Internet. Abdurakhmanov was forced to leave Russia in 2015 and received political asylum in Sweden, in 2020 he was attacked, in which two Russians were later found guilty. Malizaev left for Germany in 2012, his relatives repeatedly refused him, but the blogger claims that this happened under threats and torture.
