Jürgen Werner protests against the ban on time

The league does not want to deal with Werner's protest until next week.

The former LASK Vice President Jürgen Werner protested in due time against his function ban imposed by the Bundesliga. This was reported by the Upper Austrian Volksblatt (Thursday edition). The league banned Werner for 18 months after it had been shown that he held shares in the company or managerial functions of companies active in the field of player brokerage while he was working for the Linzers.

Such a parallel exercise of functions contradicts the ÖFB regulations regarding the work of the player agency. The Bundesliga will deal more closely with the protest from next week. There could be another hearing in the case, it said on request.

Werner resigned from his post at LASK on May 27th. Against the background of investigations by the league bodies against him or against the club, the 59-year-old blamed preliminary convictions and a “media campaign” for the move. News magazine reported at the end of April that the Upper Austrian had done business with the transfer rights of LASK players through a company stake and thus violated FIFA rules. Werner repeatedly rejected this representation.
