Zlatko Junuzovic sees the current success of his club only in the role of the spectator. A stubborn bruised heel has been incapacitating the Red Bull Salzburg playmaker since mid-September. From Friday he stayed with a foot specialist in Munich. “I hope that I get a prognosis there. Unfortunately, it has not gotten any better, especially the running – which is not unimportant,” said Junuzovic at the Sporthilfe gala on Thursday.
The former ÖFB team player accepted the award for Austria's Team of the Year on behalf of the Wiener Konzerthaus. He was happy about the honor and the current success of his team, but he found it “difficult to watch injured”, he said when ex-ski jumper Andreas Goldberger presented him with the “Niki”.
For the fourth time in a row, the trophy went to the Red Bulls. “It speaks for the club, for the team, the whole philosophy. We're on a great path and that's how it should continue.” The current winning mentality in the team is particularly evident. “The character, the quality with and without the ball and almost living together – the atmosphere is really, really good,” said Junuzovic.
