Moscow. August 13. INTERFAX.RU – July 2021 became the hottest month in the world on record, the American press reported on Friday, citing data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

“July is usually the warmest month in the world, but July 2021 surpassed itself to become the hottest month ever recorded. This new record was an addition to the alarming and destructive path that climate change is accompanying in the world,” the media quoted the media as saying management representative, Rick Spinrad.

“In this case, the first place is the worst,” the expert explained.

The combined surface and ocean temperatures this July worldwide were 1.67 degrees Celsius above the 20th century average, the agency said. At the same time, the registration of observations began 142 years ago.

The previous record was set in 2016 and was below the new record by 0.02 degrees. Asia recorded the hottest July on record, surpassing the previous record set in 2010. In Europe, the second hottest July in history was recorded: the temperature was set at the level of July 2010, but did not beat the average temperature of July 2018. In North America, South America, Africa and Oceania, July 2021 was among the ten warmest July in history.
