Debate in Jordanian parliament on amendments to the constitution ended in a fight between deputies
A live debate in the Jordanian parliament on amendments to the constitution ended in a scuffle among parliamentarians. A video excerpt from the discussions is published by News.com.
The parliamentarians caused a scandal during the discussion of the amendment, adding a feminine noun to the chapter of the constitution, guaranteeing equal rights for all citizens. The footage shows a group of deputies arguing in a raised voice in the meeting hall. Two of them go to the center and try to engage in a fight, while the rest try to separate them.
Due to the scuffle that arose between the parliamentarians, the speaker of the parliament was forced to suspend the meeting. Other projects to be discussed include the creation of the National Security Council and the reduction of the mandate of the Speaker of the House to one year. The amendments also considered draft laws on elections.
Earlier, a fight broke out in the Turkish parliament between MPs from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP). The men began a verbal skirmish that escalated into a clash. The incident took place after the MP from the CHP Erkan Aydin asked the Minister of Internal Affairs Suleiman Soylu why he used the private plane of the Turkish businessman Sezgin Baran Korkmaz.
