British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has decided to accelerate the lifting of covid restrictions in the country. It is reported by The Guardian.
The head of government said that the restrictions would be lifted a month earlier than originally planned. He added that he would do so as soon as the British Parliament returned from recess on 21 February.
“Provided that the current encouraging trends continue, we will be able to lift the latest restrictions, including the requirement to self-isolate for everyone who tests positive for coronavirus,” the British Prime Minister said.
Plans to cancel measures aimed at combating coronavirus appeared in the UK government on January 19, 2022. Johnson then specified that it was planned to cancel vaccine passports, the requirement to wear masks in public places and transport, and to transfer some employees to remote work.
