Han Zheng is China's special representative. He will attend the inauguration of the newly elected president on Monday, January 20.

Newly elected US Vice President J.D. Vance met with his Chinese counterpart Han Zheng on January 19.

This was reported by CNN, citing a press release on the incident.

The two representatives discussed a number of topics, in particular “fentanyl, which has caused an addiction epidemic in the United States and is imported from China, as well as trade and regional stability.”

It is known that the 47th US President Donald Trump previously invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend his inauguration, but the vice president will still visit Washington PRC.

Also note that the meeting between Vance and his Chinese counterpart took place amid reports of Trump's intention to visit China after taking office. The president-elect is seeking to promote open dialogue with Beijing while maintaining a tough stance on China.
