Japanese tourist flying to ISS admires Russian spacesuit
Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, who will travel to the ISS in December as a tourist, said he was delighted with the Russian Sokol rescue suit.
Maezawa admitted that he is overwhelmed with emotions, since there is nothing superfluous in the spacesuit, everything here is very functional.
He also said that he is not afraid to fly on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft, as he is confident in its safety. “I do not feel fear at all, I do not feel anxiety,” RIA Novosti quotes the Japanese.
The launch of the Soyuz MS-20 spacecraft is scheduled for December 8 from the Baikonur cosmodrome. Russian cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin, Japanese businessman Yusaku Maezawa and his assistant Yozo Hirano will be on board. They will spend 12 days on the ISS and then return to Earth.
Earlier, the first film crew went to the ISS to shoot the film, consisting of actress Yulia Peresild, director Klim Shipenko and cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky. On the eve, they began training to return from orbit. The landing of the descent vehicle of the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft with a movie crew is scheduled for the morning of October 17 in Kazakhstan.
