Japanese princess Yuriko Mikasa discharged from Tokyo hospital

The oldest member of the Japanese imperial family, Princess Yuriko Mikasa, was discharged from a hospital in Tokyo, where she received treatment for cardiac arrhythmias, Kyodo reports.

As noted, the 97-year-old princess was hospitalized at the beginning of the week with a diagnosis of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. It was planned that the woman would stay in the hospital for a week, but Mikasa's health improved, so a decision was made to discharge.

Note that in the fall of 2020, the princess was already admitted to the hospital. Then she was diagnosed with pneumonia and heart failure. The woman stayed in the hospital for 14 days and recovered.

Recall that Princess Yuriko Mikasa is the aunt of the Honorary Emperor of Japan Akihito, and the current Emperor Naruhito is a great-aunt.
