For the first time, Russian ships pass through the strait so close to Japanese territory.< /p>
The Japanese military spotted four large Russian amphibious assault ships heading west, presumably to Europe.
This is reported by Reuters, citing the Japanese Ministry of Defense.
In The Japanese Ministry of Defense published photographs of the ships, one of which was equipped with military trucks. As noted, such ships are usually used to land expeditionary forces.
When asked if these ships can be sent to Ukraine, a spokesman for the Japanese Ministry of Defense said that they do not know exactly where these ships are going, however “it is possible” that they will go to Ukraine.
Japanese self-defense forces maritime patrol on Tuesday, March 15, for the first time recorded Russian vessels that can carry dozens of tanks, military cars and hundreds of soldiers. Japan observed these vessels as they passed west from the Pacific Ocean to the Sea of Japan through the narrow Tsuruga Strait that separates Japan's main island of Honshu from Hokkaido.
