Japan unveils details of part of sanctions against Russia due to situation in Ukraine

The Japanese government has revealed the details of part of the sanctions imposed on Russia because of the situation in Ukraine. It is reported by TASS.
The list of announced measures will affect 24 representatives of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DNR and LNR). Japan has banned the issuance of visas to these individuals, and is also ready, if detected, to freeze their assets.
The Japanese Foreign Ministry also specified a ban on securities transactions in the country. It affects the Russian government, the Central Bank and state organizations. Since February 26, measures have also been taken to freeze the assets of Rossiya Bank.
Earlier, Japanese Finance Minister Shun'ichi Suzuki announced that the government would freeze the assets of three Russian banks under sanctions: Rossiya, VEB and Promsvyazbank. Also, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that the country is imposing sanctions on the export to Russia of goods that can be used for military purposes.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in the Donbass. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Russia. Kyiv began the evacuation of embassy staff from Moscow.
