Jamaica refuses to extradite Colombian Palaciose, suspect in the assassination of Haitian President

The Jamaican authorities refused to extradite to Haiti the Colombian Mario Antonio Palacios, one of the main suspects in the assassination of the President of the Republic Jovenel Moise. This is reported by Reuters, citing a statement from local authorities.

A Colombian citizen arrested in October will be deported to his homeland on January 3.

It is clarified that at the end of October, the Haitian leadership sent an official request for the extradition of Palacios.

In November 2021, Turkish authorities arrested in the country the suspect Samir Handal, who is of great interest in the murder of Haitian President Jovenel Moise. Handal was wanted by Interpol in this case. He was detained at the Istanbul airport during a transfer: he was flying from the United States to Jordan via Turkey.
