Zelensky told US leaders about the latest events on the Ukrainian battlefield in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, and also explained the needs of the Ukrainian people.
During a meeting with Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky named the components for saving thousands of Ukrainian lives and reducing Russian terrorism to zero.
This was stated in Zelensky's speech immediately after the talks in the White House with US President Joe Biden.
“We must stop this war, we must achieve a just peace. We must protect our people from Putin. We are grateful to America for supporting Ukraine all this time. We had a very important meeting immediately after talking with President Biden and discussing the victory plan that I shared. and with Vice President Harris. It is also very important for us to be completely clear and work in full coordination with the United States,” Zelensky said.
He recalled that on the morning of September 26, he met with American congressmen from both chambers and expressed gratitude to them for their bipartisan support.
“We need a fair peace,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
He briefed US leaders on the latest developments on the Ukrainian battlefield in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation and explained the needs of the Ukrainian people.
“Today we have a new powerful package of support. And we have a common view of what we need to do. We must continue to pressure Russia to stop the war and establish a truly strong and just peace. For us, this is the top priority, as it is for other freedom-loving nations – to achieve real peace, not to freeze the war,” he said.
Zelensky listed what Ukraine needs most now, which is confronting the enemy.
“Therefore, we need to maintain powerful sanctions against Russia and use the proceeds from frozen Russian assets to protect Ukraine from Russian evil. We must also work hard to bring all Russian criminals to justice,” Zelensky reported.
He also informed the Vice President about the latest Russian “Shahed” attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
“We urgently need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense to save thousands of lives and reduce Russian terror to zero. This is achievable,” Zelensky added.
Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Vice President Kamala Harris on September 26 at the White House. Before that, he spoke with US President Joe Biden, who announced a new $2.4 billion military aid package for Ukraine.
