ITMO in St. Petersburg to launch up to 100 new research laboratories by 2030

SAINT PETERSBURG, August 31. / TASS /. St. Petersburg University ITMO, while implementing the university development program until 2030, plans to launch up to 100 new laboratories aimed at conducting world-class research. Dean of the Engineering and Research Faculty Aleksey Slobozhanyuk announced this to TASS on Tuesday.

“By 2030, it is planned to open up to 100 new laboratories,” said Slobozhanyuk.

He explained that one part of these laboratories will work in key areas of the university's development until 2030, and the other in advanced scientific areas.

“In such laboratories, scientists will be focused on the most breakthrough research. World-class scientists will be mentors of this department. The result of the work of such laboratories should be publications of the level of Science and Nature,” the scientist noted.

According to him, part of the laboratories will be opened on the territory of the institute in St. Petersburg, and then, as the scientific, educational and innovation center ITMO Highpark is being built (they will build in the satellite city of St. Petersburg Yuzhny), new laboratories will be located there.
