Guido Crosetto stressed that he knows what the delay in military aid deliveries costs.
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said on Tuesday, September 17, that Italy will supply Ukraine with a second SAMP/T air defense battery before the end of September.
RaiNews writes about this.
The SAMP/T system is the only European-made air defense system capable of shooting down ballistic missiles. In June, Italy promised to send Kyiv another such system, and now the delivery is in the home stretch.
“By the end of the month, the new SAMP/T system will be delivered to Ukraine, and we know how much every minute of delay costs,” Crosetto emphasized at a conference on the production of air defense systems in Europe.
The statement was made a week and a half after Zelensky's visit to Italy to participate in the Ambrosetti forum.
We remind you that after his visit to Italy, the President of Ukraine announced that Ukraine would soon receive the SAMP/T system. According to him, during the meeting, they discussed reaching a consensus on providing Ukraine with “long-range justice,” and the Ukrainian side is counting on Italy in this matter.
