Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza signed a decree that tightened the current restrictions imposed due to the spread of coronavirus. Reported by Ansa.
The document says that sanitary and epidemiological surveillance is tightening in Lombardy and Piedmont, in particular in the cities of Milan and Turin, which are located in the north of the country. From March 1, both regions will again be designated as “orange”.
Among the restrictive measures mentioned are the closure of bars and restaurants, as well as restrictions on the movement of citizens, including a ban on leaving cities. In regions marked as “red” schools are switching to distance learning.
The Italian authorities made the corresponding decision due to the increase in the number of people infected with new strains of coronavirus. Against the background of the decision of the authorities in large cities, there are massive gatherings of people in the central squares and streets.
Earlier, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said that Europe should introduce covid passports for citizens who have had coronavirus, who have been vaccinated or who have passed a negative test for infection. Such a document, according to the head of the Austrian government, will allow free movement in the European Union (EU), in particular to travel, visit cultural events, restaurants or stay in hotels.
