Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to create a special commission to investigate the case of Alexei Navalny. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte told about the plans of the Russian leader after talking with him, writes Reuters.

“President Putin assured me in a recent conversation that Russia intends to find out what happened, that he is organizing a special commission of inquiry and is ready to cooperate with the German authorities,” the agency quoted him as saying.

Conte stressed that it is cooperation between Russia and the European Union that will help not to spoil relations because of the situation with Navalny.

The fact that the politicians of the two countries had a telephone conversation became known earlier on September 10. The situation with Navalny is being actively discussed at the level of diplomatic departments and politicians of the highest level. Thus, the President of Finland Sauli Niiniste at the end of August said that the head of the Federal Republic of Germany, Angela Merkel, through him conveyed to Putin a request to release Navalny abroad.

It is known that by now Navalny has completely recovered. He became ill on August 20 during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow. In the first two days, the blogger was assisted by doctors from the Omsk hospital. They also introduced him to an artificial coma. On August 22, the patient was sent to a clinic in Berlin.

On September 2, the German government announced that military toxicologists had found traces of a substance from the Novichok group in Navalny's body and called on the Russian government to respond to this information.
