A German politician called for further military support for Ukraine.
The war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine has become a battle of military equipment. It would be a shame for Western countries if its lack in the Armed Forces of Ukraine led to Russia's victory.
This statement was made by the Prime Minister of the German state of Bavaria Markus Soeder during the opening of the Munich Security Conference on Friday, February 16, Ukrinform reports.
“It would be a shame for the West and for us if this led to a Russian victory. That’s why it’s so important to help Ukraine so that they can protect not only themselves, but all of us,” he emphasized.
A German politician called for a clear assurance of continued support for Ukraine to be given at the Munich Security Conference.
“Let's send important messages at this conference: first and foremost, we stand with Ukraine. The second point is that we support NATO. We are committed to NATO. This is a community of values, not just a military alliance. This is an alliance of shared values,” said Markus Seder.
Recall that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed an agreement on security guarantees. This happened during Vladimir Zelensky’s visit to Berlin.
