The Russians were told how to understand if malware is installed on the phone. In particular, whether the device uses applications that can track the owner through the phone's camera.
Dmitry Galov, a cybersecurity expert at Kaspersky Lab, spoke in more detail about this in an interview with Gazeta.ru.
“Unfortunately, it can be problematic to independently recognize whether surveillance is being carried out: often such Trojans do not give themselves away, because their task is to stay in the system as long as possible.”
Cybercriminals often use spyware or stalker software.
There are a number of signs that indicate that malware may be installed on your phone:
“The battery of a device can be quickly discharged, a large amount of traffic is consumed, and unfamiliar software appears on the phone. But the question of whether a device is infected or not can be unambiguously answered only by using anti-virus solutions,”
– said Galov.
