The more pressure there is, the more this whole situation will slide into the abyss, the more chances there will be, the former State Duma deputy believes.
Ilya Ponomarev, ex-deputy of the Russian State Duma, believes that the likelihood of collusion by Russian elites against Russian President Vladimir Putin is possible, but this process will take place gradually.
Ponomarev spoke about this in an interview with HB.
“I think it's possible. But gradually. The more pressure there is, the more this whole situation slides into the abyss, the more chances there will be. I think that business can try to organize one of the security forces with money to do something This is most likely, if we talk about the top story, but I think that we need to resolve issues through an armed uprising,” he said.
He also added that now the likelihood that the Russian elites are ready to kill their leader is much higher than before. “If earlier it was 1 to 1000, now it is 1 to 100,” he said.
In his opinion, this can happen in two conditions:
- Firstly, it is necessary that Russia's military defeat in Ukraine be recorded.
- secondly, it is necessary to deal with the armament of opposition groups as much as possible .
