The head coach of the Ukrainian national football team Sergey Rebrov said whether he considers the blue-yellows to be the favorite in the semi-final match of the Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs against teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The specialist said that he and his assistants had already watched many matches of the Ukrainians’ future opponent.

According to him, when there are such pauses, while watching games “you find more details in the opponent’s game”, which are later emphasized to the players.

— Now everyone thinks that we are the favorites. But, to me, this doesn't mean anything. In our match against Italy, the opponents were favorites, but at the end of the game we could have won if the referee had awarded a penalty. Overall, we played that match very well. Therefore, we need to prepare for Bosnia and not pay attention to any favorite status, — said Rebrov.

Regarding potential debutants in the ranks of the blue-yellows, the head coach of the national team said that the coaching staff is reviewing a large number of players.

According to him, a platform was created on which the performance of all potential candidates for the national team is monitored. There is something similar in the U-21 youth team.

In the Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs, the Ukrainian team will play against Bosnia and Herzegovina. In case of triumph in the playoff final, the blue-yellows will meet the winner of the confrontation between Israel and Iceland. Both matches will take place at the end of March 2024.
