Special operation may last all of January
The Israeli Army (IDF) will conduct the first stage of the war in the Gaza Strip for another 6-8 weeks, after which the second stage will begin.
Walla reports this with reference to the words of an Israeli official.
To complete the military offensive in Khan Yunis, the military needs approximately 3-4 weeks, and the same amount of time is needed to fully complete the first “powerful” stage of the operation against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.
The source of the publication reports that the Joe Biden Administration would be glad if Israel completed the intensive stage of the war before the end of December this year, when Jerusalem believes that the operation could continue throughout January.
“The Americans want us to end the fighting faster, with less damage to Palestinian civilians and with more humanitarian aid for Gaza. We would also like to see this happen, but the enemy does not always agrees,” the publication quotes the official.
Recall that it was previously reported that Israel is preparing for Operation Atlantis. It assumes the flooding of tunnels under the Gaza Strip.
In addition, we previously reported that Israel has revealed how many of its troops died during the operation against Hamas.
