Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva intends to leave the group of Canadian specialist Brian Orser and return to Eteri Tutberidze. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing sources.
The athlete's desire became known on Wednesday, September 16. This was reported by a number of sources not related to each other. Details of a possible transition are still unknown.
On September 13, Medvedeva's back injury was reported. According to Orser, the skater's performance at the test skates in Moscow was unsuccessful for this reason.
Medvedeva left the Tutberidze group in the summer of 2018 after losing to another student of the coach Alina Zagitova in the personal tournament of the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang. In addition to silver at the Games in Pyeongchang under the leadership of Tutberidze, Medvedeva won two gold medals each at the World and European Championships, as well as the Grand Prix final. With Orser, she won bronze at the 2019 World Championship.
