In the Gomel region Belarus is preparing to conduct new exercises that have not yet been announced.
Large-scale military exercises may be planned in the Gomel region in the fall, which involve checking the degree of combat readiness of equipment.
This was found out by the Gomel Flagpole publication.
Journalists found that in August 2022, the military commissariat of the Gomel region purchased signs and posters in the amount of 4,000 rubles (2,473 UAH). It is the inscriptions on the plates and the timing of their production that give reason to talk about large-scale military exercises.
During the exercises, the following sites will be allocated: the vehicle collection department, the vehicle and driver reserve department, the placement of vehicles with small malfunctions, departure of vehicles.
In addition to plates for sites and departments, plates were ordered indicating the names and positions of persons who are likely to take part in these exercises. Among them, it was possible to identify three lieutenant colonels and one major.
The tender documentation also indicates the delivery time of products – until September 23, 2022. The publication writes that the date may indicate the start of new exercises. The Ministry of Defense of Belarus has not yet announced new exercises in the Gomel region.
