A new feature of the iPhone 13 has become public thanks to the investor request of authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He noted that the device will have the ability to support making voice calls via satellite communications. The phone will then connect to satellites in low-earth-orbit (LEO).
This feature will allow the phone to make calls and send messages even if the iPhone is out of cellular coverage. Support for such an option will be provided by the new Qualcomm X60 modem.
At the same time, the analyst did not clarify whether the new feature will be able to work with built-in Apple services such as FaceTime or iMessage.
