German citizen Anna Sorokina (also known as Anna Delvi), who was born in the family of a Russian trucker, was accused of major thefts and shared her million-dollar earnings after being released from an American prison. Her interview appeared on the BBC website.

The swindler, who, after being released from US prison, temporarily resides at the NoMad Hotel in New York, said that all her crimes and years spent in prison have paid off. According to her, after her release from the correctional institution, she began to receive many offers from the media and various media companies for cooperation.

So, for example, it became known that even while serving her sentence, in 2018, Sorokina received money from Netflix, which bought the rights to film an article by New York Magazine about her story. It is noted that the offender paid compensation to the victims in her case from a fee, the amount of which was 320 thousand dollars (23 million rubles).

“I never asked Netflix to buy my story, they did it themselves. I do not organize anything on purpose, all proposals come on their own, “Sorokina explained in an interview with BBC journalists.

It is known that in May 2019, after her arrest in 2017, a US court sentenced the swindler to 4-12 years in prison for financial fraud and embezzlement of more than 200 thousand dollars. However, she received parole under the Merit Time program after less than four years in prison.

The German citizen moved to New York in 2016 and introduced herself to those around her as Anna Delvi. She called herself the heiress of a wealthy family and began to closely communicate with representatives of high society. The swindler forged checks, which allowed her to take out loans, live in expensive hotels for free, and arrange sumptuous dinners for friends. In addition, she planned to open a center for contemporary art named after herself and constantly bought things from luxury brands.
