Scientists from the Peking University of Chinese Medicine conducted a study and found out what signs may indicate a high likelihood of developing a severe form of the disease. The results of scientific work are reported by Nature.
The main symptom of the severe course of COVID-19 in children was shortness of breath.
It was shortness of breath that was twice as likely as other symptoms that foreshadowed a severe course of coronavirus.
In addition, it became known about other symptoms and signs that may indicate possible complications. Among them – fever, runny nose, cough, high fever, diarrhea, increased C-reactive protein, abnormalities on x-rays or computed tomography of the lungs.
It is clarified that the study involved 203 children with confirmed coronavirus infection.
