France cooperated with the United States in the detention of the Russian vessel Baltic Leader in the English Channel

French customs and gendarmerie cooperated with the US authorities in the operation to detain the Russian bulk carrier Baltic Leader in the English Channel. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of France, reports TASS.
As noted by the French department, the ship left the port of Rouen at 00:45 (local time) in the direction of St. Petersburg and was intercepted at 02:00 (local time) on February 26. Then he was redirected to the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, where he was placed under customs control at the pier.
Earlier on Saturday, February 26, the Maritime Prefecture of France reported the interception of a Russian cargo ship in the English Channel. Later, the Russian embassy in Paris explained that the diplomatic mission received an urgent call from the captain of the ship, in which he spoke about the detention.
