“I spoke with the chief of staff of the White House, there is good news: the president is doing very well. He actually wants to return to the White House, to work, “O'Brien said and noted that Trump will still remain in the hospital for some time.
“The President is firmly in charge of the country,” the adviser added. When asked whether any transfer of power is planned in case of complications in the head of state's illness, he answered evasively: he emphasized that the authorities have plans for any cases, but so far this is not a possibility that is being considered.
It is known that in the event of Trump's incapacity due to a possible serious illness, presidential powers will be transferred to Vice President Mike Pence, and if he falls ill, to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.
The American leader announced a positive test for coronavirus on October 2. His wife Melania Trump was also diagnosed with ailment. The President promised to immediately begin treatment and quarantine.
