US President Joe Biden intends to have a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Jake Sullivan, National Security Adviser to the President of the United States, told CNN.
He explained that the conversation between the two leaders could take place amid new warnings about a potential conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, Sullivan added that he is not yet ready to provide more specific information on this matter.
The last time a telephone conversation between Biden and Putin took place in December 2021.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that a telephone conversation between Putin and Biden is not yet planned. The press secretary of the head of state also noted that, if necessary, they can quickly call and discuss current issues.
