ISW told which scenario for ending the war is acceptable to Putin

The dictator wants to destroy Ukrainian statehood.

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin connects his statement about the “final” end of the war with the destruction of Ukrainian statehood.

This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

In particular, at a press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on July 5, Putin said that the agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine should not concern a temporary ceasefire, since this would allow Ukraine to regroup and rearm.< /p>

Russia allegedly advocates a “complete” and “final” end to the conflict.

Analysts believe that Putin is unwilling to accept anything short of the destruction of Ukrainian statehood and identity. This is evidenced by his statements and demands.

Experts recall that Putin, as a precondition for ending the war, demanded the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, over which the Russian Federation does not have full control. He also demanded recognition of the Russian occupation of these regions.

According to analysts, Putin will not stop there. ISW also added that Putin would use the capitulation of Ukraine for his other goal – overthrowing the democratically elected government of Ukraine and replacing it with a pro-Russian government and political system to his liking.
