In the first half, the Israelis responded to the goal of the striker of the Russian club Eldor Shomurodov with a goal from Nikita Rukavitsa. Mohammad Abu Fani scored against Maccabi in the second half of the game.
From the 69th minute of the meeting the Rostovites played with ten men. Daniil Glebov received a direct red card.
The victory allowed Maccabi to knock Rostov out of the fight for getting into the group stage of the Europa League. The Yellow-Blues have become the second Russian team after Dynamo Moscow to complete their European competition this season.
