Israel launched a strike on air defense (air defense) in Syria in response to the launch of an anti-aircraft missile from the Arab Republic. This is reported by the Israel Defense Forces on Twitter.

“In response to an anti-aircraft missile fired earlier from Syria, we have just struck surface-to-air batteries in that country, including radars and anti-aircraft installations,” the entry says.

According to RIA Novosti, the command of the Syrian army said that one soldier was killed and five others were injured in the attacks.

The Israeli military regularly strikes targets in Syria, explaining this as a response to similar actions by an Arab country and the desire to prevent the arming of enemies, including representatives of the Hezbollah movement. Official Damascus believes that such actions should be stopped. With a corresponding request, the Syrian authorities turned to the UN Security Council, insisting that the organization put pressure on Israel.
