Democrat Joe Biden's victory in the US presidential election threatens Israel with war with Iran. This was stated by the Israeli Minister of Settlements Tsakhi Hanegbi, reports The Jerusalem Post.
The minister recalled that Biden had repeatedly spoken about his intention to return to the nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic. The lifting of international sanctions could strengthen Iran, which ultimately “lead to a violent clash between Israel and Iran.” Trump's plan to strike a new deal with Tehran was different, according to Hanegbi, as it included continuing pressure with tough sanctions.
In September of this year, the United States imposed new sanctions against Iran. This measure was condemned by the UN, the Russian side called the restrictions criminal.
In 2018, the United States reinstated sanctions against Iran in full, and also withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA), which limits Iran's nuclear development. Washington called it a response to the “export of violence, terror and disorder.”
