Israel to provide coronavirus vaccine for all Holocaust survivors

by alex

The head of the Israeli Ministry of Diaspora Relations, Omer Yankelevich, came up with an initiative: she calls for help to vaccinate all who survived the Holocaust, regardless of their country of residence.

According to the head of the department, her department plans to contact charitable organizations and individuals, and at the expense of the funds raised to purchase the required amount of vaccine and deliver it abroad.

According to Israeli sources, the Israeli government has stopped its choice on biological products Pfizer and Moderna, and one of the organizations cooperating with the Ministry has already taken up the necessary calculations.

It is difficult to say exactly how many Holocaust survivors live in the world. Historians believe that the last (fourth) period of mass extermination of Jews lasted until the very end of World War II. Thus, almost all of them are currently over 75 years old.

It is known that in Israel itself there are about 189 thousand people who have suffered from the anti-Semitic policies of the Nazis.

Israel continues to be the world leader in the number of vaccinated people.
