Israel's initial war plan against Hamas identified 2024 as the year of hostilities.
Israel has determined the date for the war in Gaza . The country believes that the fighting will last another 7 months.
The Financial Times writes about this with reference to a statement by the country's national security adviser and confidant of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Tzahi Hanegbi.
He said that it would be by the end of 2024 that Israel would achieve its goal of ending Hamas rule in the besieged Palestinian territory.
“We're now in the fifth month of 2024, which means we have seven more months of struggle ahead of us this year,” he said in an interview.
An earlier publication, citing Israeli officials, reported that the war against Hamas would last almost a full year, with varying levels of intensity, to destroy the militants as the leading military and political force in Gaza.
“These entire wars have not changed, and in the coming months are designed to deepen our achievements and achieve our goal. What is needed is patience and knowing how to be strong. This is what allowed our nation to survive for 75 years, and before three thousand years,” Hanegbi said.
Recall that the Israeli attack on Rafah, which began on May 6, forced more than a million residents to leave the city.
Most of them have been displaced more than once during the nearly eight-month war between Israel and Hamas. Families are now housed in makeshift tent camps and other war-torn areas.
