Netanyahu thanked Trump for his “historic” involvement in the conflict between Iran and Israel and declared Israel's victory.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had “achieved a historic victory” over Iran.
CNN reports this.
In an address to the nation, Netanyahu said Israel had eliminated what he called an existential nuclear threat.
Netanyahu thanked US President Donald Trump for the United States' involvement in the Iran-Israel conflict.
“We've never had a greater friend in the White House,” he said fawningly of Trump.
Israel has destroyed Iran's nuclear program, Netanyahu said, warning that if anyone in Iran tries to restart the program, Israel will “act with the same determination and the same force to prevent such an attempt.”
In turn, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that his country will respect the ceasefire with Iran “as long as the other side does so.”
Iran's president has previously said Tehran will not violate the ceasefire with Israel unless Israel violates the agreement first.
Recall that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also stated that his country had achieved a “historic victory.”
