Israel Eliminates Successor of Slain Hezbollah Leader – Al-Arabiya Sources

Israeli aviation carried out a massive strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut, where Safieddine's bunker was likely located.

As a result of the Israeli air strike on Beirut on the night of October 4, the new leader of the terrorist group Hezbollah, Hashem Safieddine, was killed, who was a cousin of the previously killed Hassan Nasrallah.

Several informed sources told Al Arabiya about this.

According to them, Israel launched a massive strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut, where Safieddine's bunker was likely located.

Al Arabia sources claim that Hashem Safieddine's hiding place was located at a great depth, but Israeli planes dropped 73 tons of bombs on the shelter.

Along with Safieddine, his assistants and Hezbollah field commanders were killed. The terrorist group's intelligence chief, nicknamed “Mortada,” was also allegedly in the bunker.

Sources claim that no one had any chance of surviving the attack, with death likely to result from either a bunker collapse or a gas leak leading to suffocation.

A Lebanese security source confirmed earlier that contact with the new Hezbollah leader, Hashem Safieddine, was broken on Friday.

What is known about Hashem Safieddine

Nasrallah's cousin Hashem Safieddine looked very similar to him in appearance, but was more extreme.

He is called an important link between Hezbollah and Iran, since he had mixed relations with decision-makers in Tehran: Hashem Safieddine's son married the daughter of IRGC General Qasem Soleimani, and his brother Abdullah is a representative of Hezbollah in Tehran.

Since 2017, Washington has recognized Hashem Safieddine as an international terrorist.

Recall that earlier it was reported that the Israeli army eliminated one of the leaders of the Hezbollah terrorist group in Lebanon, who was engaged in the production of high-precision guided missiles.
