The delay is explained by the need to sign the relevant agreement.

Israel and Hamas will not hold their first hostage exchange until Friday due to the need to agree on terms.

This was stated by the head of the Israeli National Security Council, Tzachi Hanegbi, reports The Times of Israel .

“The layoffs will begin in accordance with the original agreement between the parties, and no earlier than Friday,” Hanegbi told reporters on Wednesday.

The Israeli side reported that the delay was due to the need for the parties to sign a document ratifying the relevant condition for it to come into force.

Israel expects the document to be signed within the next 24 hours, after which the release of the hostages will begin.

Let us recall that earlier Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip does not mean that the war against Hamas militants has ended .

In addition, we previously reported that Israel is moving into a more difficult phase of the war in Gaza .
