The Israeli army said it was expanding operations in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli government and the leadership of the terrorist organization Hamas are close to an agreement on a ceasefire and the release of dozens of women and children held hostage in the Gaza Strip.

The American edition of The Washington Post writes about this.

According to the publication, Hamas announced its readiness to release 87 hostages: among them 53 women and children, as well as 34 foreigners.

Israel must pause the fighting in the Gaza Strip for five days and release Palestinian women prisoners and minors from Israeli prisons.

“Despite this, the day before, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied “many false reports” about impending agreements for the release of hostages. He also stressed that there are no such agreements “yet,” the Times of Israel reports.

At the same time, National Security Council spokesman Adrien Watson denies the news to The Washington Post.

“At the moment there is “no agreement,” but the United States continues to work hard to ensure that agreements between Israel and Hamas are reached,” she wrote.
