A Hungarian court sentenced one of the commanders of the Islamic State (IS, banned in Russia) terrorist group to life in prison for crimes committed in Syria. Writes about this Hungary Today.
Hassan F., a former IS fighter, was found guilty of crimes against humanity. The man brutally killed at least two people, one of them beheaded by the terrorist. The crimes were committed in Syria in 2015.
Hassan F. was caught at the Franz Liszt International Airport in Budapest back in 2018. He tried to use forged documents.
In March 2019, a Syrian was detained in Hungary, who was allegedly a member of IS and carried out executions. He was suspected of participating in a mass execution in the city of Homs: the detainee could be involved in the murder of 20 civilians. The suspect was arrested on December 30, 2018 at the Budapest airport. The man was sentenced to a suspended sentence and prepared for deportation to Greece, where he had a residence permit. However, later, the Hungarian authorities, in cooperation with Belgium, learned about his connections with IS.
