Is a person liable for military service with cancer exempted from mobilization?

by alex

General mobilization continues in Ukraine. There are isolated cases where men are unfit for military service.

So, they cannot be drafted into the army due to the presence of certain diseases, in particular oncological diseases. More about this – will tell 24 Channel.

A soldier with cancer is exempted from mobilization

The grounds for unfitness for military service with an exception from military registration are:

  • primary and secondary malignant neoplasms of all localizations in the presence of distant metastases and the impossibility of radical surgical treatment;
  • rapidly and slowly progressing malignant tumors of lymphoid, hematopoietic and related tissues (lymphogranulomatosis, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, malignant lymphoproliferative diseases, multiple myeloma, all types of leukemia, etc.), with significant changes;
  • benign neoplasms of all localizations with large dysfunctions.

Note that other oncological diseases make unfit for military service in peacetime and limited fit – in military.

Important! Temporary unsuitability or limited suitability in such cases is determined individually.

When can targeted mobilization be announced in Ukraine?

In Ukraine, targeted mobilization may be announced, but after the end of hostilities on the territory of our state.

Thus, this type of mobilization can be declared to eliminate the consequences of hostilities and restore those cities or towns that have suffered as a result of a full-scale Russian invasion.

If targeted mobilization is announced on the territory of Ukraine, it will involve the able-bodied population that is not subject to conscription for military service and does not have restrictions on age and health status.
