The Irish authorities have decided to impose strict restrictive measures in connection with the situation around the coronavirus. Quarantine will be introduced from tomorrow and will last at least until December 1.

Most businesses will be closed as part of the restrictive measures. The only exceptions are those that are recognized as life-supporting, as well as pharmacies and grocery stores.

The work of entertainment and leisure centers, gyms, hairdressing salons, beauty salons and shopping malls will be suspended.

Citizens of the country will be forbidden to move away from their homes at a distance of more than 5 kilometers. The work of construction organizations is still in question.

The teachers' union is pushing for the transition of educational institutions to distance learning, at least until kindergartens and schools provide sufficient rapid tests for coronavirus.

As a measure to support the population, the Irish government intends to increase unemployment benefits to $ 350 per week for those citizens who received more than $ 400 per week before quarantine.

According to the Johns Hopkins Institute, over 1000 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in Ireland over the past 24 hours. In total, in a country with a population of almost 5 million people, more than 50 thousand people fell ill, and 1,852 people became victims of the disease.
