It is noted that Khamenei's public appearance occurred after the 12-day war with Israel that continued in June.
Footage released by Iranian state media showed dozens of people attending a ceremony to mark Ashura, the holiest day in the Shiite Muslim calendar, standing and singing as Khamenei entered a government event hall.
Earlier it was reported that the Iranian ayatollah called on Muslims around the world to take action against the American leader.
